Are you up for the Challenge?....

Simpson Video

Have you ever wanted to cross the Simpson Desert? Perhaps it’s on your bucket-list, you’re seeking a high-octane holiday or you simply want to immerse yourself in the remote beauty of the outback. With 1100 dunes to conquer (each way), let our desert-loving crew guide you across this vast, rugged country on an adventure you’ll never forget.

Show up, gear up, rev up and ride. We’ll take care of the rest.

Starting in 2025, we’ll be the only tour operator providing you with two different bikes on the same tour! Ride from Alice Springs to Mt Dare on a CFMOTO 450MT, and then hop on your Sherco SEF to tackle the breathtaking dunes of the Simpson Desert across to Birdsville and back again.

Our fleet of new-season and impeccably maintained bikes will get you there (and back!), or bring your own bike if you prefer. You'll have the back-up of our immaculate 4 x 4 support vehicles carrying all of life’s necessities, remote mechanical support, fuel and quality camping gear. As part of the package, you’ll camp in a comfy swag, enjoy hot showers, plenty of snacks and drinks along the way, hearty meals to keep you fuelled and the banter of like-minded riders around a roaring fire as we farewell the day, with the most spectacular sunsets you’ll ever see. Then the star-show begins……

The ever-changing terrain from Alice Springs to Birdsville will have you traversing the Simpson Desert on the WAA, French and QAA lines. This will include tackling part of the (in)famous Finke Desert Race track, traversing across 3 state borders including a visit to Poeppel corner where NT, QLD & SA meet, dune jumping at the highest 40 metre peak of Big Red, soaking in 36 degree Dalhousie Springs, visiting iconic outback pubs such as Mt Dare and The Birdsville Hotel, spotting for camels, dingoes, donkeys, giant birds of prey and seeing the tracks left by critters who only venture out by night.

Do you have a friend or partner who shares your sense of adventure but doesn’t ride? We’ve got them covered too with a tag-along package that includes everything but the bike (up to 3 seats available per crossing).

So stop thinking about it and get on board! We can’t wait to see you in the Simpson.

For those who are experienced off-road riders and are looking for that extra challenge, our Simpson Double Crossing Tour is what you are looking for!

We offer you the unique opportunity to cross the desert both ways within seven days!

Ride Two Bikes in One Epic Tour!

From 2025, we’re adding a unique twist to your Simpson Desert experience. Participants will now ride two different bikes on one tour! Begin Day 1 and Day 7 on our versatile CFMOTO 450MT adventure bikes, allowing you to maximize your experience between Alice Springs and Mt. Dare along some of Central Australia’s most renowned adventure bike routes. Then, at Mt. Dare, swap to your Sherco for Day 2-6  to tackle the rugged dunes of the Simpson Desert on your way to Birdsville and back. This is an adventure-first approach designed to offer the best bike for every terrain.

Starting and finishing in Alice Springs, we'll utilise up to 4 x support vehicles to allow you to maintain a higher pace in the desert, but still give you time to enjoy all the points of interest along the way...plus you’ll have the bragging rights to say that you’ve crossed the Simpson in both directions!

You'll get to experience the Binns Track, Old Andado Homestead, Dalhousie Springs and the famous French line, along with the Knolls track and WAA line, with a chance to check out the Finke Desert Race track as you head back to Alice Springs.

This tour will be limited to just 15 spots for riders on our hire bikes, along with a further 3 positions for non-riders in the support vehicles.

This is our most difficult tour - a challenging ride which is aimed at skilled and experienced riders. Good bike fitness levels are required!
